Saté Sauce TL-Style

Saté sauce is probably one of the like sauces next to mayonaise in the Netherlands. Below you find my fine tuned recipe for a wonderful sauce. Enjoy! Below the list of ingredients and some optional extras!

    First roast the spices and put in a spice grinder. Grind the spices (coriander, cumin, galangal).Prepare all the ingredients. If you use the shrimp paste first fry this in the pan with the oil. The smell is normal and will taste wonderful. Add the spices and the onion. Glaze the onions with the spices. Once glazed add the garlic and chili. Cook for another 2 minutes

    Add some of the water and the peanutbutter. Stir until you have a sauce like texture. Add some of the Sweet Soy sauce, optional coconut milk.

    Fine tune the taste to your liking with the lemon/lime juice, additional spices etc. Gently cook and becareful not to burn the sauce. This should have a nice "thick appearance. Enjoy!
