    Put all the ingredients in the pot except the double cream and let them soak for hours or start cooking gently on low heat and let it simmer for 1 hour.

    Add water if it gets too thick. The trick is slow gentle simmering.

    Add the cream/marsipan when the porrige is luke warm. Stir it in.

    Serve with honey or additional sugar if needed.
