Oliebollen or Dutch Donuts (Almost)

Traditionally for New Years Eve but can be enjoyed at any time as they are very addictive.

    Sieve the salt and the flour, add the cinnamon yeast and sugar. Mix well

    Add the water, lemon juice and beer. Mix well. Add the dried filling qand mix gently

    Leave the mixture for 1 hour until it has doubled in size

    Get the frying pan with 2 liters of sunflower oil and heat to 180 degrees celcius

  5. 5

    Use two spoons or an ice scooper to portion the dough and let them gently in the hot oil. Fry 6 - 8 minutes until golden brown. Once ready drain on kitchen towel and cover in powder sugar
