Dahl Remy Style
Dahl mean lentils in Indian. I love lentils they are healthy and tasty. Try this version of my Dahl ala Remy. A great dish to make a day or 2 in advance to let the flavors dance together.

Add 1.5 liters of water to the lentils and start the cooking process.

Roast the cumin seeds for 2 - 3 minutes. Add some oil and fry the onions gently till glazed. Add the garlic and continue to fry for another 10 minutes slowly.

Add the chilies to taste, gartam masala, coriander and fresh ginger. Cook for another 5 minutes and add to the lentils in the other pan.

Gently cook together for 1 hour or longer. If you like add the coconut milk to give it a more cremy texture.
